1. Who we are
Aayog Guru runs the Aayog Guru website and mobile app: free practice questions, mock tests and study material for Lok Sewa Aayog and allied examinations. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It covers both the website and the app.
2. What we collect
- Account information. If you register on the website we store your name, your email address and a hashed password - the password itself is never stored and cannot be read by us. If you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. In the phone app you may continue as a guest, which creates an anonymous account tied to a random identifier stored on your device - no name, no email.
- Study activity. The quizzes you take, the answers you give, time spent, scores, XP, streaks, badges, bookmarks and any questions you report. This is what makes progress tracking and the leaderboard work.
- Device and technical data. App version, operating system version, device language, and - in the app - a Firebase Cloud Messaging token so we can send notifications you have opted into. Web server logs record IP address and browser user agent.
- Advertising data. Google AdMob may collect an advertising identifier and related data to serve ads. See section 5.
3. Why we use it
To show your progress and rank, to keep your bookmarks and history across devices, to fix wrong questions you report, to detect abuse, and to keep the service free by showing ads. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your answers to profile you for anything other than your own statistics.
4. Firebase
We use Google Firebase for sign-in, analytics, crash reporting and push notifications. Firebase processes data under Google's privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.
5. Advertising (AdMob)
The platform is funded by Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads where you have consented. You can review Google's advertising practices at policies.google.com/technologies/ads, and change ad personalisation in your device settings.
6. How long we keep it
Your account and study history are kept while your account exists. Delete your account and we erase your profile, attempts, answers, bookmarks, badges and device registrations. Anonymised aggregate counts (for example, how many people answered a question correctly) remain, because they no longer identify anyone.
7. Your choices
- Delete your account at any time from your profile page, or request deletion in the app under Settings. No longer have access? Request deletion here.
- Turn off notifications in your device settings.
- Register with an email and password if you would rather not connect a Google account.
- Ask us for a copy of your data by writing to the address below.
8. Children
The service is aimed at candidates preparing for public service examinations and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them.
9. Changes and contact
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Questions or requests: [email protected].
